The Franklin's Tale

So it starts of that he is talking about beautiful girl that he wants to marry and that he will treat her right and do everything he can to make her fall in love and become his. They talk about how love is not something that can be forced but that she had to love him back and not be controlled. He says that he will never cheat on her and he will always be faithful to her. He then had to leave because he was a knight and she was all sad without him because her true love left for two years. While he was gone, her friends comforted her by telling her everything was going to be alright and he started to write her letters home saying that he is all good and taking care. So i kind of got lost in the middle because it got realllyy confusing. But then she starts to talk about going to party's with her neighbor and how she still remained faithful. The neighbor starts to make advances on her, but she totally denies him. When he comes back he finds out about what happens. Then i got lost because it started to talk about money and a book. so the ending got very confusing but it was talking about the three of them and how it was kind of a love triangle.

I am pretty sure i got the whole tale right, but it was very long and very confusing. So the moral of the story id that he loved a girl, stayed faithful while gone, and he came back to his wife and everything was good. It was also about the love triangle that happened while he was away.

I know that there is a huge part that i left out about how she stands over the rocks and wishes they were gone, but i do not know what really happened.

Cantabury Tale- The Cook's Tale

So this is about the cook. He was always going to party's, drinking, staying out late, and hanging out with the girls. The cook got into some trouble with the law about his drinking and he had to go to jail. They describe him as brown as a berry, short, and thickly made. He was always happy and such a great attitude. The cook was full of love and really was just out to have a good time. They said he was a beehive full of honey which I am guessing means he was full of life and never held back. I think that it says that he was a gambler and he always used to throw dice" gamble". I guess whenever he looked or tried to find money it was always empty or he had nothing in there. Whenever there was a party or a carnival he would leave the shop or where he worked and go to it instead of working. So in other words.. he was a jolly, full of life, gambling, drinking, party goer who loved to have fun=]

So go to this website if you want to read exactly what it says=]

Wk8_Medieval Times 3

Fashion back then basically differed on the classes. The upper class usually had the best looking clothes becauase they could afford it. For the poor, the usually wore wool and the undergarments wear made of linen. The wool was veeerryyy uncomfortable, but the linen helped it out a little from not being to itchy and hot.  They always smelt becasue they smoked, worked, and basically did verything in these clothes and hardly washed them. For the clergy, they wore robes and ropes around them. The style of which they wore them would show who had the more money or who was higher in power. The upper class still wore wool, but it was made of pretty colors instead of brown dull colors. The women wore headdresses and huge flowing gowns, while the men wore tunics or jackets with legging or breeches. As the time went on, the clothes started to turn into silk and had metal and silver on them and they could start to afford to get leather belts.

I would hope to be in the wealthy class so that i could wear nicer stuff and not smell all the tie. I think that I would have a huge problem with being itchy and hot from the wool

This website would hlep the viewers a good insight to what they had to wear back in the medieval times time.

Eating was a past time in medieval times. It would be great to live in this time period becasue eating was for fun and huge  gatherings. For the people with a lot of money, eating was a huge form of entertaining. People tried to impress one another by having huge feasts that would feed many people. The more food you had the more wealthy that made you seem. The food depended on the seaon and the summer time had the most selection of food. In the winter, the food was the most scarce and people who were used to eating lost of meat, had to stick to the dry meat. The poor had a very hard time trying to feed themselves in the winter and stuggled in the summer as well. The poor mostly ate vegetables or whatever else they could find. The most popular drinks were honey with water, ale for the lower class and wine for the upper classes.

If I were in this time I would hope to live in the upper class only because I would want to be able to eat a lot and not be limited on what i can and cannot eat.

This website would be good for a user becasue it shows the different levels of eating and what each class gets to eat. This website also shows people that food was a huge form of entertaing and everyone loved to eat.

Wk8_Medieval Times 1

The medieval times was not actually a very violent period of time. The jousting tournaments were helf in an open field and the knights were sometimed seperated by a fence. Each knight would have a lance, which was a weapon that looked like a huge stick, and they would ride horses directly at each other and try to knock eachother off. THere were different kinds of jousting one is were the knights had a free for all and just went at eachother and another one was when they went one againset one and fought to their deaths. Before each jousting tournament, they would pick a lady that they would fight for in her honor and if they won, they would take her to bed.  The knights wuold win many prizes and have great feasts, but at the end of the day, they would just go home and sleep with the lady they had won.

I think that it would be fun to watch these jousting tournaments go on. I would not want to see the people die, but it would be fun to watch the sport and eat=]

This website showed me a lot because it explained the different ways of jousting and how the actual tournament went on.
